Pearson Educator Awards 2026: Applications Open for an International Award for Educators
Applications are now open for the Pearson Educator Awards 2026, an international award that recognises educators for their contribution to learning, innovative teaching practices, and impact on learners. For participants from Kazakhstan, two pathways are particularly relevant: English Language Learning for English language educators and Higher Education for university educators across different disciplines. The K–12 pathway for school teachers of other subjects is available only to participants from the United States in 2026.

Who can submit a nomination?
A nomination can be submitted by:
- the educator themselves;
- a colleague;
- a manager or school leader;
- an adult learner or student.
This means self-nomination is allowed. Educators do not need to wait for an official nomination from their school or organisation.
What is required to participate?
A key part of the nomination is a 3–5 minute video in English.
The video should highlight:
- your teaching practice;
- your concrete impact on learners;
- the results you have achieved;
- what makes your approach or project distinctive;
- why your work deserves professional recognition.
The organisers also state that videos created using AI tools are not accepted.
Categories for English language educators
Within the English Language Learning pathway, there are several categories related to English language teaching, including:
- working with young learners;
- building teenagers’ confidence in English;
- teaching English to adults;
- expanding educational and professional opportunities through English;
- helping learners develop their voice and confidence.
There are also categories focused on the innovative use of artificial intelligence in education and on long-term impact on learners.
What should you focus on when preparing your nomination?
A strong nomination should show not only what the educator does, but also what changed as a result of their work.
For example:
- learners’ outcomes improved;
- a new educational initiative was launched;
- learners’ motivation and confidence increased;
- the practice was shared with or adopted by colleagues;
- a specific educational challenge was addressed;
- a project or programme produced measurable results.
What do winners receive?
Winners receive:
- international recognition from Pearson;
- a personalised award;
- an opportunity to have their story featured on Pearson platforms;
- an opportunity to connect with an international community of educators;
- participation in the global online awards ceremony.
No cash prize is listed in the official award terms.
