UNESCO, in collaboration with LG AI Research, has launched the Global MOOC on the Ethics of AI, a free online course dedicated to the ethical and responsible use of artificial intelligence. The course is available on the Coursera platform and will be particularly useful for educators, professionals working in education, and anyone who already uses AI tools in their professional practice.

Applications are now open for the Pearson Educator Awards 2026, an international award that recognises educators for their contribution to learning, innovative teaching practices, and impact on learners. For participants from Kazakhstan, two pathways are particularly relevant: English Language Learning for English language educators and Higher Education for university educators across different disciplines. The K–12 pathway for school teachers of other subjects is available only to participants from the United States in 2026.

Applications and nominations are now open for the Global Teacher Prize 2027, an international award established by the Varkey Foundation to recognise educators who have made an outstanding contribution to education. The grand prize is US $1 million. The Prize recognises not only a teacher’s achievements in the classroom, but also their impact on learners, the professional community, and education more broadly.

Applications and nominations for the 2026–2027 Global Schools Prize are expected to open in September 2026. Established by the Varkey Foundation, this international award recognises schools that are transforming education and developing effective solutions for their students and communities. The total prize fund is US$1 million. Under the structure used for the inaugural award cycle, ten category winners each receive US$50,000. One of these schools is then selected as the overall winner and receives an additional US$500,000 to develop and scale its impact.
