Harvard Graduate School of Education to Hold Information Sessions for Prospective Students in Astana and Almaty
The Harvard Graduate School of Education (HGSE) Admissions team will hold information sessions in Kazakhstan for those who are considering graduate study in education and would like to learn more about HGSE programmes, the admissions process, and application requirements.

HGSE offers master’s and doctoral programmes in education, including areas related to educational leadership, education policy, human development, teaching and learning, as well as learning design and technology.

During the sessions, participants will have an opportunity to meet representatives of the HGSE Admissions Team, learn more about study opportunities at Harvard Graduate School of Education, ask questions about the admissions process, and receive information that may help them prepare a stronger future application.
HGSE also regularly organises admissions events for prospective students and provides opportunities to engage directly with members of the admissions team.

Kazakhstanis at Harvard Graduate School of Education
There are also students and alumni from Kazakhstan within the HGSE community. For example, Gulnaz Kordanova graduated from Harvard Graduate School of Education with a degree in Human Development and Education, specialising in Global, International, Comparative Education.
Harvard has also highlighted her work in educational and digital equity, as well as projects she has implemented in Kazakhstan.
This demonstrates that studying at HGSE is a realistic academic pathway for education professionals from Kazakhstan as well.
If you are planning to apply
Applications for HGSE programmes for the 2027–2028 academic year are now open.
The deadline for most Ed.M. programmes is 5 January 2027, while the deadline for the Ph.D. in Education is 1 December 2026.
Prospective applicants are encouraged to:
- explore the programmes in advance;
- review faculty profiles and their research interests;
- identify their own professional and research interests;
- prepare questions for the Admissions Team in advance.
